"The First Northeast Asia International

Fur & Fashion Fair" (January 5 - 11, 2017)

We received the invite from the Harbin Municipal Government and the China Council for the Promotion of International Investment to organize the members to participate in the "First Northeast Asia International Fur & Fashion Fair” (5-11 January, 2017).

The exhibition was held at the same time as the 33rd Harbin International Ice and Snow Festival and the Cold Climate (Northern Climate) Expo. It is a national exhibition. The Fur Fair covers an area of ​​10,000 square meters, inviting high-end international fur brand enterprises to participate.

Harbin Ice and Snow Festival along with Japan Sapporo snow festival, Canada Quebec winter carnival and Norway Oslo Ski Festival are the world's four major snow and ice festivals. Many tourists visit each year. Due to the very cold climate, fur garments and other winter necessities will be highly interested to people. And in the eyes of consumers in the Northeast, Hong Kong and foreign brands hold high quality products.

Harbin is a major city in the Heilongjiang Province which makes it a central point in the whole of Northeast China. In 2015, the industry has seen China consumers purchase over 1/3 of all Fur sales in the world; within this figure, Harbin alone, has dominated 40% of sale in China.  The market potential in Harbin and the Northeast region cannot be underestimated.

This exhibition gives international brands and manufactures a perfect opportunity to enter the booming Chinese market with little to no risk due to the acceptance of fur as an every-day apparel in this region. This will allow members of the IFF to increase their brand recognition as a whole and also find other partnership prospects to establish a strong foot-hold in the up and coming Chinese market.

Garments can be imported to China under ‘Carnet’. For those garments that are already in China, they can be sold retails at the Expo.
